Ways to identify different parts of a computer
Our solution: To get an idea of the various parts of the computer, you need to open the casing first. To do this, unscrew the two screws behind the casing and look inside.
1. Main big circuit board you see is the motherboard. And the power supply is on top of the casing at the back. A number of red, yellow, black or blue wires come out of the power supply. Some of these are connected to the motherboard and some directly to other hardware such as CD drives, floppy drives, hard disks.
2. Find out which processor is on the motherboard by locating its cooling fan. Usually it is slightly left above the motherboard. Direct viewing is not possible for the processor fan.
3. RAM is usually on the right side of the processor. 2-4 slots depending on the model, oblong.
4. To figure out which soundcard is which and find the device where the speaker's input jack fits.
5. Similarly, you can know which one is your graphics card with the monitor cable.
6. In the same way you can find modem (telephone cable), LAN card (broadband internet cable).
7. Power cable with thin red, yellow, black or blue wires. White or red wide cables are data cables.
8. Power cord, monitor cord, mouse and keyboard, speaker input are the basic accessories that all PCs have behind the casing in a typical PC.
The biggest advantage is that different cables are different, so you can't accidentally plug one type of connection into another.
